# aptu.dev terms

aptu.dev is an open research and developer infrastructure initiative operated by its founding contributors.

Service. Endpoints are experimental and provided "as is". Paid requests settle per-call via x402: USDC on Base, EIP-3009 transfer authorization, final on settlement.

Non-custodial. We never hold private keys or client balances. A settlement is an irreversible programmatic payment for compute.

Failures. Upstream and diagnostic errors (HTTP 424) do not settle charges. No attempt fees today; if one is ever introduced, it will be stated in the endpoint's 402 challenge before you pay.
